  1. Welcome to Telecom Panda Nandhu.

Sorry to hear that you are unable to make video calls via Skype / Viber on your Redmi Note 4G smartphone. The same issue occured with Mi3 users and later many of them found that they didn’t removed the protective layer from the front screen panel which was blocking the front camera, hence resulting in the black screen while making video calls.

First, check if there is any protective layer blocking the front camera. If nothing is blocking the front camera then there might be some bug which should be addressed by Xiaomi in the future updates.

Secondly, you can try the below method :
    1. Close the open application (Skype / Viber) and remove it from the recently used applications menu too. Or simply restart your smartphone.
    2. Now launch the stock camera app in your mobile.
    3. You will find that primary camera (rear camera) is selected by default.
    4. Now switch to video camera (video mode).
    5. After selecting the Video Mode, tap on the switch icon and select Front camera.
    6. Once the front camera get activated, tap on the home button / home icon. Please note, do not use the back button.
    7. Now launch Skype / Viber app again.
    8. Try making a video call and hopefully your front camera might start working and the opposite caller might be able to see you.

    I hope it helps.
